Santa Clara Wastewater System Phase II Project

A public meeting is being held on July 2, 2021 at 10 AM via Zoom to discuss the Green Valley Special Utility District’s proposed project to construct a new gravity main sewer line generally following Santa Clara Creek from the intersection of Stagecoach Road and County Road (CR) 318 north to CR 374.  One of the purposes of this hearing is to discuss the potential environmental impacts of the project and alternatives.  The total estimated cost of the project is $21,381,000.  No user rate increase will be required to finance this project. An application for financial assistance for the project has been filed with the Texas Water Development Board, P.O. Box 13231, Austin, Texas, 78711-3231.  An Environmental Information Document for the project has been prepared which will be available for public review at the District Office at 529 South Center Street, Marion, Texas between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM for 30 days following the date of this notice. Written comments on the proposed project may be sent to PO Box 99, Marion, Texas 78124 or to the Texas Water Development Board. 


This project involves construction (a) of a critical facility in the 500-year floodplain, (b) in the 100-year floodplain, or (c) construction located in a wetland.  Alternatives to construction in a floodplain/wetland, potential impacts on floodplains/wetlands and proposed mitigation measures will be addressed during the public meeting.
